ROOTS (Rainham Oast Old Time Sessions) club is on this Wednesday (15th April) in the bar from 8.00 pm to 11 pm cost ?2.00. Roots is an American music and dance club. Come along and join in, take part or just enjoy the atmosphere. Good fun music amongst friends, American Old Time Music, Appalachian Clog Dancing and Flatfoot dancing, Bluegrass, Country & Blues. So what's it all about American Old-Time Music is happy hoe down music from the Appalachian Mountain area of the USA it is played on the Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar etc. - think " ?O' Brother Where Out Thou" or "Cold Mountain" sound tracks. Appalachian Clogging is a percussive dance which goes with the music. Bluegrass Music is also from the Appalachian Mountains (originally Kentucky) and it is played on the Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin and Double bass plus singing - think "Beverley Hill Billies" or the "Dukes of Hazard".       Like     Comment     Share
